Golf at Naldehra Golf Course
The Naldehra Golf Club, is located at an altitude of 2,200 meters. It is a 18-hole, par 68 course with 16 greens and 18 tees. The golf course was recommended and built under the watch of Lord Curzon during the British Era.
Whistling Pines Resort arranges for your daily pass along with caddy services and equipment for you to Enjoy Golf at the country’s oldest and one the most scenic Golf Course. Please inform us a day in advance to arrange for your day pass and the required service and equipment.
River Rafting at Tattapaani
Tattapani, a few km from Shimla is a wonderful sightseeing spot. Set along side the Satluj river, the spot is popular for hot springs. A dip into the water of the springs provides relief to the people suffering from joint pains, fatigue or any type of skin disease and hence has got a great medicinal quality. This natural sulphur spring is pure and has curative powers of various kinds.
If you are an adventure buff, you can indulge in a thrilling session of rafting in the swiftly flowing river. The powerhouse at Chabba which is 18 kms from Naldehra provides a starting point for the 11 km river rafting stretch to Tattapani. River rafting here has different stretches suitable to people of all ages. Just let us know when you would like to taste the force of Satluj and we will arrange everything else for you.
Trekking in Shimla
There are numerous treks around Shimla and some of the most pristine ones are in the vicinity of Whistling Pines Resort. One can trek to the Craignano apple orchards and visit the Bhima Kali Temple located atop the hillock. The trek is rated medium intensity and takes about 1 hour to go and come back from the hotel. Total distance covered is about 4.5 KM
If you would like a more challenging and adventurous trek, then start from the Mashobra Bus stop, you can trek down to Sipur through a dense deodar forest. Sipur has a magnificent 400 year old temple. Sipur also has a natural water spring that is know for its purity and mineral content. It is said that a British Viceroy would order fresh drinking water to be brought for him from this spring. You can also trek further to Mulkoti for a longer and more adventurous trek which takes roughly about 3.5 hours.The distance covered is 8 KM.

Skiing at Narkanda
Narkanda is a famous destination very close to Shimla. It has some very nice ski slopes for beginner to intermediate
level skiers. The USP of this place is that you can actually travel to Narkanda from Whistling Pines in the Morning and return by evening after a refreshing skiing experience. It takes about 2 hours to reach there.
From equipment to experienced trainers, everything is available at Narkanda. However, do make sure in advance that the slopes are ready for skiing and that the Narkanda road is open to traffic and not snow covered. Though the authorities clear off any snow from the road the same.
Apart from these, one can try horse riding at the Naldehra Golf course on the winding road trail through the deodar forests. Along with the excitement of horse riding, the panoramic view of the valleys and mountains of Shimla will surely take your breath away. These are just few of the activities available near Whistling Pines Resort and Shimla. To name a few more, you can trek to the Chadwick waterfalls, trek to Taradevi Temple, experience paintball gunfight at tattapani or visit the amusement park in fagu enroute to Narkanda. The options are endless but unfortunately restricted by the duration of your stay.
